Results: (only look at this after you’ve hit “submit”!)

Mostly A’s – The Fearless Protagonist

You’re main character energy! Determined, resourceful, and brave, you’d fight your way to the end and probably uncover the real twist before anyone else.

You’re the type who grabs a flashlight, says “I’ve got this,” and actually does.

You’re like: Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil) or Isaac Clarke (Dead Space) — cool under pressure, and somehow always walking away from explosions in slow motion.

Mostly B’s – The Strategic Survivor

You’re smart, cautious, and quick-thinking — the perfect balance between bravery and logic. You’d be the one who makes it to the sequel.

You know when to fight, when to hide, and when to nope out of a bad situation entirely.

You’re like: Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Sam (Until Dawn), or Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn) — tactical, calm, and always three steps ahead of the monster.

Mostly C’s – The Lucky Tagalong

You might not plan to survive, but you somehow always do. Monsters miss you, traps glitch, and everyone’s shocked you made it to the credits.

You’re the comic relief who becomes an accidental legend.

You’re like: Luigi (Luigi’s Mansion), Tails (Sonic the Hedgehog), or Ashley Graham (Resident Evil 4) — nervous, a bit clumsy, but surprisingly hard to kill.

Mostly D’s – The First to Go (But a Legend Forever)

You’d go down early — but iconically. Maybe you tried to open the creepy basement door first, or you thought splitting up was a good idea. Either way, you’d have the most dramatic (or funniest) exit in the group.

You may not survive, but players will definitely remember your scream, your attitude, or your amazing last words.

You’re like: Kenny (The Walking Dead), Wesker’s Henchmen (Resident Evil), or literally every random NPC in a horror game intro. You might not make it far… but you make it iconic.

A + B: The Bold Strategist

You’ve got the courage and the brains — a deadly combo for anything creeping in the dark. You’d be the one leading the charge, flashlight in one hand, improvised weapon in the other, yelling “I’ve got a plan!” while everyone else panics.

You’re not reckless — just confident enough to make things happen and calculated enough to survive doing it. You’d take charge in any crisis, rallying others to follow your lead even when things look hopeless.

You’re like: Marcus Fenix (Gears of War) or Ellie (The Last of Us) — cool under pressure, but not afraid to throw down when it counts.

A + C: The Chaotic Hero

You’re half luck, half raw nerve — somehow always at the center of the chaos, and yet, miraculously alive. You might not always know how you pulled it off, but you did. You’d be the kind of character players root for because your survival is both impressive and hilarious.

You thrive in unpredictability — tripping over the right clue, dodging danger by accident, and turning disasters into victories. Every horror game needs a wild card, and that’s you.

You’re like: Nathan Drake (Uncharted) or Bayonetta — a mix of charm, chaos, and sheer survivability.

B + C: The Clever Lucky One

You don’t panic — you adapt. You may not be fearless, but you know when to hide, when to run, and when to press that mysterious lever that somehow opens the right door. You’re not the star of the movie, but you make it to the end credits with style (and maybe a few cool one-liners).

Your mix of smarts and timing makes you the perfect accidental hero — always in the right place at the right (or wrong) time. You’d probably save everyone without realizing you were doing it.

You’re like: Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) or Corvo Attano (Dishonored) — resourceful survivors who always make it to the end credits.

B + D: The Hero with a Doom Clock

You’re smart and tactical, but maybe too self-sacrificing. You’d probably go out saving someone else — and everyone would still talk about your noble (or badass) exit long after the game ends.

You’re the type to see the big picture, to plan the escape route, and then stay behind to make sure everyone else gets out. It’s tragic, but it’s legendary.

You’re like: Dom Santiago (Gears of War) or Joseph Oda (The Evil Within) — the kind of hero whose story ends too soon, but leaves a lasting mark.

C + D: The Comedy Relief with Plot Armor (For a Bit)

You might not be the hero, but you are everyone’s favorite. You bring the humor and the heart — right up until your “Oh no…” moment. Players will remember you for making them laugh before the next jump scare.

You’re the glue that keeps the group together — even if your jokes are the reason everyone gets distracted in the first place. You go out swinging (or screaming), and it’s always memorable.

You’re like: Claptrap (Borderlands) or Daxter (Jak & Daxter) — lovable, loud, and impossible to forget.

A + D: The Fearless Martyr

You go out swinging — no fear, no hesitation. Whether it’s holding the line so others can escape or blowing up the monster with you, your ending would be epic.

You’re driven by pure conviction — the one who refuses to run, even when everyone else does. Your story might end early, but it defines the rest of the team’s survival.

You’re like: Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) or Joel (The Last of Us) — your courage shapes the entire narrative.

Our Results

Michael: 5 straight Cs made it clear I was going to be “Lucky Tagalong!” I am very ok with that, the frontline is meant for other people. I’m happy throwing in my two cents, watching out for people before they do something too stupid, and making sure we make it out alive. Given the suggestions of the quiz, I can see myself as both a Luigi as well as a Tails. I’d like to think I’m not quite as jittery as Luigi, but I probably am! 🙂

Patty: I got A=2, B=4, C=4, D=0 — which makes me a “B + C: The Clever Lucky One.” I’m happily surprised because I honestly thought I’d end up dead, hahaha.

So… did you make it out alive?

Whether you’re the fearless hero, the clever strategist, the lucky survivor, or the unforgettable first to go — every horror game needs you.
